History of orienteering punching (TCH/CZE)

	1950–1960 – a judge makes time or other records in competitors card at a control point three members groups took part in an event and if a few groups met at a control point their time was interrupted control points without judge began to use later, for example competitors group should rewrite a text from a tourist signpost
	1960–1965 – „children“ stamps at some control points; a judge was only at a few control points stamps blurring in a rain was a great disadvantage
	1965–1999 – „classic“ control points with manualy punching the first punching equipment was brought from Sweden a home-made production of similar punching equipment followed there was a gradual development in the production at last the punching equipment was exported into Scandinavia
	1996–1999 – the electronic device „Regnly“ (Emit) for Elit events the first electronic equipment was imported from Norway but it was not widely spread for its technical shortages
	1999–today – the electronic device „SportIdent“ at all events an enormous expansion of this electronic punching system was caused by its trouble-free usage today SportIdent is used almost at all O-events

	1996 – The punching unit BSO The prototype of first devices for demonstration of basic working principles. Only three pieces were made.
	1997 – The punching unit BS 1 a with the card A hundred devices were manufactured together with BS1 b.
	1997 – The punching unit BS 1 b with the card A hundred devices were manufactured together with BS1 a.
	1997 – The punching unit BSF 2 with the card Three hundred devices were manufactured and used in Scandinavia. This type determined a typical shape for SportIdent.
	1998 – The punching unit BSF 3 with the card This type was smoothly authorized by IOF.
	1999 – The punching unit BSF 3-2 with the card. Today it is the most used system.
	1999 – The electronic punching SI card 5. Cards are made in various colours.
